How your shipping works depends directly on what you’re selling and what model you’re running.
In one case, you don’t have physical contact with the product, in another, you pack it yourself, and in yet another – the whole process happens online.
In this article, we’ll show you, step by step, how logistics work in:
dropshipping,
classic e-commerce,
and selling digital products.
In dropshipping, the wholesaler or external seller handles shipping the products – you just act as the go-between between the customer and the supplier.
The customer places an order in your store, for example choosing InPost parcel locker delivery.
You get the shipping details (address or parcel locker code).
You place an order with the supplier, give them the customer's info – and ask for no receipt in the package.
The supplier ships the product straight to the customer.
If you work with a particular wholesaler – it's worth setting shipping standards, e.g.. no proof of purchase in the package, labels, etc.
If you're getting products from marketplaces (like Allegro, Amazon) – start by writing to the seller, to check if they allow dropshipping and if orders can be fulfilled “in the client's name” with no proof of purchase or the seller’s business card inside.
Make sure your shipping description is clear in the store policy – state who’s handling the shipping and how long it takes.
If you actually have the products in stock – all the logistics are on your side.
The client picks a delivery method (like InPost parcel locker).
Once the order’s paid, you get the shipping info.
You pack the product, print the label, and stick it on the parcel.
You send the parcel—e.g. at a parcel locker, post office or courier point.
If you use EcomFly, you can turn on integration with InPost parcel lockers, which automates the whole process.
How does the plugin work?
Delivery method choice – the customer can pick an InPost parcel locker while placing an order.
Parcel locker map – the customer chooses a specific parcel locker.
Label generation – the system creates a ready-to-print label.
Dropping off the package – just stick the label on the package and put it in the parcel locker.
Tracking and notifications – the customer gets notifications and the pickup code via SMS/email.
Thanks to this you have full control over your shipping and you can act fast, professionally, and without filling in data by hand.
If it's a digital product – like ebooks, courses, templates – there's no physical shipping.
The whole process happens automatically.
How does it work?
Turn on the Ecom Digital plugin in your EcomFly store.
When creating a product, mark it as a digital product.
Attach the file you want to deliver to the customer.
After purchase, the customer automatically gets the file at the provided email address.
You don't have to print labels, pack products, or send out parcels.
Shipping in e-commerce depends on your sales model, but you can handle all types of it easily.
In dropshipping the order goes straight to the customer through the wholesaler or marketplace—you place the order with the supplier using the customer’s details, and you’re the one responsible for contacting the source.
In traditional e-commerce you pack and ship the parcels yourself, and EcomFly with the InPost plugin makes the whole process easier.
In digital sales everything happens automatically—the customer gets the product by email without you having to do anything.
